3. When I play along with Jeff the notes on my guitar don't sound the same as his. Why?

Learning to play music is as much to do with your ears as it is your hands. It is important that your guitar is tuned properly. If it is not, nothing will sound right to you and you will not be able to play along with the lessons without becoming confused. ALWAYS USE THE GUITAR TUNER PROVIDED WITH EACH OF THE LESSONS TO TUNE YOUR GUITAR BEFORE TAKING THE LESSONS. Then, when your guitar is in tune, if you are playing the exercises properly your guitar should sound just like Jeff's.

4. How often should I practice, and for how long?

Playing the guitar, and music in general, are supposed to be enjoyable. It is possible to over do it when it comes to practicing and there is no correct answer. Your favorite guitar heros probably had a guitar in their hands every time someone saw them. Many of them literally slept with their guitar. They spent all that time practicing because they loved doing it. Learning guitar is like anything else in life, the more you do it - the better you get.

Realistically, if you really want to learn, you should probably try to get in at least an hour of practice per day. The more you accomplish, the more you'll want to do it. It is extremely gratifying to witness yourself improving. Remember, it's supposed to be fun.
